Both Scheriproct and Proctosedyl ointment/suppositories are compound corticosteroid-containing preparations indicated for the short-term treatment of haemorrhoids and pruritis ani. They contain the same local anaesthetic cinchocaine but differ in the steroid used, savings could be achieved across NHS Dumfries and Galloway if a switch from Proctosedyl to Scheriproct was carried out.
